The 1st crack is at the upper left corner of the passenger air bag. This appeared roughly 2 years into ownership. The 2nd crack is to the left of the instrument cluster, starting at the front closest to the windshield and moving back toward the hump of the cluster closest to the driver. A 3rd crack has appeared, branching off the second crack at the instrument cluster pointing towards the drivers window. Those cracks appeared about 3 years ago.this product is defective. The vehicle has been kept under shaded carport or in warehouse most of it's life.
Takata recall. Also, the dash of the Tahoe is cracked in several places and seems like a safety hazard if the air bags were to be deployed. After research, it seems as if this is a very common problem on this model. I have called and emailed GM about my issue, but have never received any type of response regarding the dash.
Dashboard cracking. Notice little crack on 2013 but on 2016 notice more cracks. Hear on the news that Chevrolet has a problem with dashboard cracking and try to contac them but they refusing to fix their problem because is out of warranty. It may a safety issue because air bag is around dashboard. I just upload 1 picture but there is more cracks.
The dashboard on my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe has fractures over the passenger front airbag as well as above the instrument cluster. The fractures are emitting a loud rattle from within the dashboard preventing adequate concentration while driving. The fear of a collision resulting in the deployment of the front passenger side airbag is one thing but I also fear that the fractures in the dashboard shows the structural integrity of the dashboard has failed and presents a strong and valid possibly of said fractures splintering off and becoming shrapnel in a collision causing serious injury. From my understanding this is a widely known and documented issue with the Chevrolet Tahoe. I am requesting a formal investigation into the failed integrity of the dashboard on the Chevrolet Tahoe, years 2007-2013

My vehicle has a crack in the dashboard above the passenger side airbag as well as above the instrument panel. I am concerned if I were to get into a wreck, that the dash is going to split and cause bodily harm inside the vehicle. The cracking appears to be continuing to spread.
Dashboard cracks around passenger airbags and another larger crack behind the steering wheel. Plastic shards will fly through the air if in a crash or if airbag is deployed.
I have a defective dashboard crack that began over driver instrument panel and extends across dash to and around the passenger airbag that is also defective. I am worried about safety as the defective airbag is now compromised even more by the cracked dashboard that is surrounding it. I am still waiting for airbag recall parts for airbag. It began in late summer and has continued to spread over time and now just cracked around the airbag. I feel our safety is compromised with a crack around an unstable, recalled airbag and I called GM customer service reference number 8-2670033882 to report this.
I have a cracking front dash, I have several cracks, on the right side above the front passenger side air bag area, and a larger crack on the left side of the instrument cluster, that coach is about 9"
2 complaints 1 is dealership refused to honor a recall we never recived on chrome interior door handles. Secondly the front dash started cracking shortly after warranty expired now it is cracked in several places especially around the passenger side air bag. Impo that if the air bag on the passenger side did go off. Shrapnel from the plastic dash would be dangerous GM has had several complaints and no one has addressed this
Dash board has cracked over the instrument panel. It started after a warm day and the A/C was turned on. Vehicle was stationary when I heard the crack. It had been parked in a parking lot. The crack has gradually extended toward the arch over the instruments.
I own a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Before the vehicle was out of warranty, I had to replace the dashboard due to cracking. The dashboard is cracked and broken again - all over. The vent has broken and fallen in, there are cracks around the airbag and there are complete holes where pieces have broken and fallen into the dash. I love my car and this is the only issue I have with it. I just called the dealer to replace the dashboard and was quoted $1,300 which I can not afford. According to the internet this is a very common problem with this year, make and model vehicle, Chevrolet needs to take responsibility and fix this issue.
I am very disappointed in GM for not taking the measure to fix the cracked dashboard! not only is my air bag recalled and says it can cause serious injury my dash is cracked as well right next to a potential deadly air bag. I believe this issue needs to be fixed by GM immediately, I can guarantee if it were their family's vehicle it would be fixed!
