I am the proud owner of a GM POS. I purchased this vehicle used and now know why the previous owners abandoned ship.
This is not the first problem to arise with this engineering marvel of a vehicle.
The luxurious plastic door handles that break with the slightest pull. After replacing three of them, I bought what you would think would come in a vehicle as overvalued as this one, aluminum handles that were not cheap by any means. There are many more but let me get back on topic.
This latest one is a boggles the mind.
Wife calls me while I'm at work to tell me her battery is dead and she had to get it jumped. On her way home she noticed the door locks, windows, and left blinker will not work. Nope, I get home and test all lights, I notice the back brake lights do not work when the brake is pressed.
So I get my wife to take it in to the dealer the next morning. Who wants to be in a rear end accident, because your brake lights don't work.
So next day she drops it off. I get another call while at work that it is fixed and she is on her way home. When asked what the problem was she tells me that the BCM (body control module) had to be updated as well as the driver side master control switch. So I'm thinking that's great and ask her how much it cost. $328 dollars she replies. Now I'm pissed. This is a known issue and these people willingly risk the safety of my family and yours and then want me to pay for their engineering incompetence. So I called the dealer and asked why I had to pay, to which they respond with your vehicle's warranty is up. This just made my blood boil. So I call GM CORPORATE . I explain my issues and get the same BS, your vehicle warranty is up. I let the nice lady know that I will be posting this as well as filing a safety complaint. She tells me to hold on and transfers me to another person. So same warranty BS and on top of it he has the nerve to tell me GM is not responsible for fixing my car for life. So I give him an ear full, last I checked you don't pay for software glitch updates from any other company. Not to mention they acknowledge the issue previous recall and put a time limit on it because they know good and well their products are trash.
