The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the locks on the rear doors on both the driver and passenger sides were unable to be opened. The locks could only be opened when the rear windows were lowered and a person had to reach in from outside the vehicle to manually unlock the doors. Hubert vester Chevrolet (3717 raleigh rd pkwy w, wilson, nc 27896, (252) 627-8085) stated that the actuator for the locks malfunctioned and needed to be replaced in order for the locks to work properly. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact researched the failure and found that it was widespread. The failure mileage was 125,000.
Exterior door handles keep breaking. No recall. Local dealers say this is very common with this model and similar vehicles. GM told me to make a complaint here in addition to them.
The R/F door handle caused a laceration to the passenger's hand. An inspection of the door handle revealed that the chrome plating is peeling at the mold seem, resulting in a razor sharp edge along the entire top of the handle. Inspection of the other door handles revealed similar peeling that can cut anyone who comes in contact with the peeling metal plating.
My interior drivers side door handle has chrome peeling off and it sliced my finger while closing door. I have read that this has happened to lots of other people and wanted to report it. Terrible design.
Exterior door handles break off; have replaced driver side rear (Jan 2014) and passenger side front (Feb 2014). Appears that the plastic casing around the screw, which mounts the handle to the door, cracks and breaks. Cost to repair is about $150 each time (door panel must be removed to replace). Note - bought Tahoe used July 2013. Dealer where vehicle was taken for repair stated that this is a problem they see with this vehicle.

Yes I am writing to say that we have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe ltz and the door handles are falling off. I am not understanding why they are coming off like this. I don't have the money to keep putting out for the same problem.. I am thinking that a recall should be put forward towards this problem. Because I see that I am not the only one with problems.... thanks in advance
I own a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. All four door handles broke off from the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and they stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer to have the failure diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 102,000.
2007 Tahoe ltz has had 3 door handles break during the last 2.5 years of ownership. Am finding this is a very common issue for the 2007 model year. Door handles are approx $200 each to replace. Can't anything be done by GM motors to make this right?
The door handles are coming completely apart on the vehicle. I cannot enter the vehicle on the right side at all and now the driver side handle is coming apart more all the time. Eventually I will not be able to get into the vehicle to drive it what so ever and do not have extra money to repair this GM issue. This needs to be taken care at no charge by Chevrolet.
The interior passenger door handle began to peel. The chrome plating did not look dangerous until my girlfriend sliced her index finger open trying to open the door. It was almost like being cut with a sharp pocket knife.
The chrome plated driver side door handle is peeling. When the plating starts to peel the chrome is very sharpe and cuts like a razor. I have cut my fingers three seperate times. The dealership wants approx. $100 to replace the chrome plating. In other words, to replace a sticker. This is completely unacceptable and very hazardous.
My child attempted to open rear door on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe ltz. One side of the handle broke, thus pulling one side away from the door and pinching her hand somehow! this is the 2nd handle to break on this vehicle. I personally went to open my passenger side door and it broke right off! what if we were in a crash and needed to be pulled out and the door handles break off"!" very dangerous! upon investigating this defect I have learned this is not an uncommon incident! see following link www.topix.com/forum/autos/Chevrolet-Tahoe/trfog7J2eokh998G2 I hope we can see a recall out of this!
My husband and I purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe 8-16-11. I cut my left middle finger on the chrome driver side interior handle 8-17-11. After further investigation, we discovered all the handles on the vehicle are peeling and very sharp. We have a small child & I am very concerned that he will also start cutting his hands when opening/closing the doors. I feel as though we spent too much money on the vehicle for the handles to be slicing our fingers open.
Exterior door handle on my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe ltz practically broke off in my hand when opening the door. Major safety hazard that handles break apart and entry into the car could be a problem should their be an emergency or accident.
2007 Chevy Tahoe with chrome exterior door handles. Passenger side handle broke off. Has significant opportunity to pinch fingers. Driver's side door handle also loose. Was informed this is a common occurrence with this vehicle. If this is a known issue, it needs to be resolved!
