This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Cracks on the dashboard above the steering wheel and the passenger airbag. The cracks over the passenger airbag could possibly be a hazard. This seem to be a common condition in the 2007 Tahoe/Yukon. We have contacted GM with no resolution to the problem.
5 cracks in vehicle's dash; 2 on driver's side, 3 on passenger side around airbag. Started appearing last fall and GM was notified. Informed by GM, without looking at vehicle, that it was not a manufacturing/product issue and my case was closed. If passenger airbag deploys, the plastic dash will explode into pieces. Dash has yet to be fixed.
Peeling chrome coating on inside door handles has sharp edges that have cut hand hydraulics on back cargo door already out and I hardly ever use back door.
The chrome plating on the interior door handles has peeled and caused small cuts to my fingers. Checked with dealer and of coarse they are not aware of any other problems like this.

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT3 dashboard cracked. Cracked while driving on highway. -1 crack 10" long directly in front on steering wheel running from defrost vent towards driver. -3 cracks 6-8" long radiating outward from passenger side airbag towards center of dash and windshield. I'm afraid that if the Tahoe is involved in a collision and the front airbags deploy, pieces of the dash will become detached, injuring the occupants. I have filed a complaint directly with GM, they replied that the crack dash is not a manufacturing defect (they never inspected the vehicle). I was told by a GM representative, if I was concerned for my safety, I should replace the dashboard in the Tahoe at my own expense. Many other individuals have posted photos/descriptions of the same issue with their 2007 Tahoe/Yukon on the internet.
I own a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The chrome is peeling from the interior door handles. The chrome is thick and I have cut my fingers while opening the door. The dealership reported they would not replace the items because of mileage, but it had been a common complaint for the 2007 model Tahoe.
Chrome on the interior door handles peels and gets very sharp. Had replaced in either July or August of 08 under warranty. Its now February and already they are starting to peel again. Exterior moldings on the windows were popping up everytime I rolled up/down the windows or at higher speeds, they were also replaced.
My wife and I have been victims of the faulty chrome plating peeling from the interior door release handles, causing a razor type cut to tips of our fingers therefore causing loss of blood. The interior door release handles have been replaced 3 times within the last 10 months resulting in failure soon after. The last incident happened 6/28/2008 when I exited the vehicle which cut my finger. There is no visual warning when the chrome plating seam fails, but to receive the razor 'like' cut to the finger which is very painful. Our level of concern for the safety of our children and family members that have blood ailments such has diabetes type II, enema, is of great concern. I have been subjected to having to wrap tape on the existing handles that have already been replaced to prevent what could cause permanent bodily injury which I feel is totally unacceptable. If further injuries result in the use of this vehicle, I am requesting the assistance of your organization for a permanent resolution to this issue. Your concern will be greatly appreciated from my family and myself.
The headliner in my new vehicle rattles and it also has some indication of damage near the passenger visor area which obviously occurred during factory (Texas) install.
Several problems with new 2007 Tahoe, including recall HVAC, replace dvd, replace radio, vibrating left driver's mirror, back door molding, repaired passenger door power locks...however, main and irreparable issue is the poor fm & xm radio reception which fades in and out while driving.
