2006 Chevrolet Tahoe with transmission failure. Consumer states that the vehicle only had 43,639 miles on it when he experienced major transmission failure. He states the manual says there is no work needed until 100,000 miles. The transmission failed while attempting to accelerate. The vehicle sounded as if it was in neutral. The vehicle slammed into gear and lunged forward partially into the intersection.
Vehicle with 43,000 miles experienced major transmission failure. While entering intersection, vehicle came out of gear and accelerated as if in neutral, then clunking into gear and lunging forward. Maintenance schedules show that transmission requires no servicing until 50,000, yet warranty only lasts until 36,000. Manufacturer is misrepresenting life of transmission causing unsafe conditions due to a defective product.
