This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I just purchased a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 with 29854 miles on it. Today while driving on the freeway the odometer stopped functioning correctly. While driving 70 mph the odometer was reading 20 mph. Then while driving 45 mph it was reading between 10-20 mph. I read through the other complaints and found 3 that seemed to be having the same problem. I just lucked out by finding this web site and wonder how many other people are having the same problem. This appears to be a safety defect in the vehicle. I have a 36/36 bumper to bumper warranty and Monday plan on calling the dealer to bring it in to have it repaired under the warranty. This should be a recall since it appears to be happening to several vehicles.
