I purchased a 2002 Tahoe in August and recently noticed a popping sound when I would lift the hatchback. Upon further investigation, I could see that the whole hatchback glass was sagging on one side. I realized that the components that held the glass to the frame was badly cracked and starting to let go. I had bought the extended warranty, but was told this was a glass issue, and would not be covered. After several calls to the dealership, they agreed to have a GM representative evaluate the situation to see if they could replace it at no charge, $802.50, in the end the dealership replaced the glass for me.
The consumer was driving the vehicle when the cargo door window hatch came off. The consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the warranty had expired, however they had seen the same thing happen on same make and model vehicles. The dealer told consumer that eventually the entire window would come off. The manufacture was contacted, and stated that they would not repair the window at their cost.
