While climbing into the third row seat, my nine year old son received a severe cut on his right middle finger requiring seven stitches and several steri strips in the hospital emergency room. As he was he was lowering the second row seat, he put his finger into to the headrest closure. As the headrest automatically folded rearward, his finger was sliced open.
Putting down the second row seat to climb into the third row seat the headrest folds downs automaticly. My 10 1/2 year old son had his finger pressed down into the headrest closure as he was putting down the seat. He severed the nerve and tendon in the upper half of his middle finger that required surgery and 3 months recovery, with therapy. I was wondering if other head rest accidents have been reported. I have a clain on file with General Motors asking them to look into other reports involving the headrest.
