This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Rotors warping with normal use every 3000-4000 miles. Had to redo front brakes 5 times in 20,000 miles. Replaced rotors, pads, calipers, brake hose, rotors turned and still have problems.
Left front brake rotor separated. That is to say, the disc actually separated from the hub. The separation caused loss of braking on that wheel. The vehicle pulls hard toward the right(because of the remaining active brake). Concerns: An inexperienced driver may have rolled the vehicle with the sudden hard pull to the right; had both rotors failed at the same time, a complete loss of front brakes would have been the result. I have the failed part. The repair shop who fixed the vehicle told me they see this kind of failure on a regular basis. Thus type of composite rotor is common on many GM vehicles. Having experienced the failure, I can't help but wonder if crashes may have been caused by the rotor failure, but the "broken" rotor could have been assumed to be a result of the crash? I have not contacted GM at this point. I have several complaints concerning this vehicle I am attempting to address with GM, but for the most part am being told the vehicle is out of warranty. This is a safety issue that I felt NHTSA should be aware of, and will, hopefully, look into. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Rotors replaced, turned frequently. Repair facility says this frequently happens with GM cars. Is there a solution"is this dangerous" the vehicle vibrates in the front end when the brakes are applied unless rotors are new or just turned.
My Tahoe has warped the front rotors under normal use(no towing) under warranty 6 times and twice more out of warranty with only 38K miles total. Cheverolt dealer claims there are no technical bullitens on this problem even though I've learned the Suburban has a similar issue requiring a proportioning valve replacement. On average this Tahoe has warped the front rotors every 4000 miles. What can be done to resolve this issue?

Front brake rotors are warped, causing the brake pads to wear down quickly, and when brakes are applied the vehicle vibrates and shakes. Dealer has been contacted.
