The contact owns a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the transmission failed on the vehicle. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt transmission. Within a year and a half, the transmission failed again. The mechanic stated that it seemed as if the transmission fluid was not being cooled for some reason. The contact stated that just before the transmission failed, he could smell burning transmission fluid each time. The transmission was replaced again with another rebuilt transmission. Within nine years, the transmission was replaced a total of five times every year and a half. The contact had the transmission rebuilt at the cost of $1,700. There were no recalls for the failure. 1st thing noticed is orange indicator showing what gear vehicle is in was not working, when truck was in forward motion ran very rough not much power. Next day before truck was brought to dealership driver noticed dashboard readings were not working. Vehicle brought to dealership.they replaced vehicle speed sensor, problems cont., but before they could futher test truck was operating normally. Told to bring vehicle back if happened again. Happened again 6/7/99. Vehicle back at dealership, .
