When brakes were applied suddenly, the inside joint of the rotor cracked making it hard to stop. The mechanic found that joint was corroded leading to the crack and that the other rotor was also corroded, and about to break.
The front left brake rotor partially separated from hub causing loss of control when applying brakes. Separated area appears to be corroded through. Parts available.
When the consumer approached a traffic jam, and applied the brakes, the rotors scattered all over the road, and made it extremely hard to stop. The vehicle was inspected three weeks prior to incident. The consumer requested compensation from GM.
