The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban 1500. The contact stated that while driving within 2-5 mph and attempting to park with the steering wheel turned to right, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle crashed into another vehicle that was parked. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was still operational. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The vehicle was not currently subjected to NHTSA campaign number: 12V112000 (steering). Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

When trying to start put SUV the key gwys stuck and won't turn after this started happening our stability control sensor started going off. It used to turn off one U shut off the sub but not it's always on. And the key won't turn unless U wiggle it.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. While driving approximately 60 mph, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle started to pull while attempting to change lanes. In addition, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and steering ability was lost. The driver was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and then drove slowly home. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12V112000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that only NHTSA had the ability to add the VIN to the recall. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 89,139.
