This is my third Suburban, and I have never experience the poor quality of this one. I bought it new, and I have had to replace the drivers side interior door because it was pulling out. Now, dash is cracking and vibrating when I am driving. I will reconsider purchasing a suburban next time .

Suburban LTZ 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,900 miles

I HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM AS I THOUGHT CHEVY WOULD AT LEAST COVER SOME OF THE COST. I HAVE HEARD SEVERAL FORUMS THAT SAY THERE COULD BE SHRAPNEL IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. I HAD TO REMOVE THE CENTER SPEAKER BECAUSE THERE ARE CRACKS IN THAT AREA AS WELL. I WOULD GLADLY COVER 50% OF THE COST TO REPLACE BUT THE LABOR HOURS ARE HALF THE COST. PLEASE INFORM YOUR PR DEPARTMENT AS THESE FORUMS ARE GETTING PRETTY HEATED.

About 3 years after purchase started to notice small crack at the corner of the airbag. Now cracking all over. Dash rattles bad due to the plastic crappy dash cracks.

Suburban LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,516 miles

We have a 2012 Suburban that has Approx. 20,516 miles on it and has always been kept in a garage that is heated and air conditioned and we use a window cover when out. We bought it brand new in 2012 and it is not even paid off yet. I got in it yesterday, and found a crack that has started just behind the hump behind the steering wheel. It starts where the two dash pieces meet and goes to the hump and starts to wrap around.

I called our dealership that we bought it from today because we bought the extended warranty only to find out that the warranty does not cover trim. The dealership said all they could do was for us to bring it in and they would give us an estimate to fix it and that would document when it happened. They said the cost would be ours. I called GM and got the run around. I am so upset.

Can anyone that has been able to get GM to help, give me ideas on what to do? I have read that the repair costs can be in the $1000 or more range. I feel like the dealership lied when they said the extended warranty was bumper to bumper, and now I feel like GM will not stand behind a fault in their vehicle. How do I get in contact with someone about the lawsuit?

Suburban LX V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

I brought the 2012 suburban in 2012 and purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty. I called today and the dealer said that they will have to see if Chevy will cover the dash board. I'm confused?? Why did I purchase bumper to bumper extended warranty? No one said "by the way if your dash board cracks in two years this warrant won't cover it". When Chevy knows this is an issue (search on line many are having this issue). They need to recall the dash or fix them for free. I take the truck in on Tuesday and will update with what is said. If anyone has had this in their suburban, please let me know how you handled it. Just on a side note.... I take very good care of the truck, the crack happened within two weeks because I just cleaned the dash two weeks ago and it was fine, it sits in the shad 95% of the time and I use a window protector. What more can I do to take care of the truck. This was my first chevy and not going too well... I had my 97 mustang for 12 years and never had any issues like this.

Update from Sep 24, 2014: ok... so Chevy.com said that it is out of warrant and they won't do nothing about it. Remember I did buy the extended bumper to bumper. Well they show no record of it because the chevy dealers do no have to sell factory chevy extended warrant. I should have been told that the extended warrant was not through chevy. More to come.......
