I kept hearing a rattle in the rear of my Suburban while accelerating. I was afraid it was the transmission so I took it to the dealer. They looked it over (under warranty) for about 4 hours and then said it was the aluminum flashing around the spare tire. They said they tightened up all the bolts and that the problems was fixed. As I was driving home I heard it again. I took it back. They drove it and finally found out that it was something internal in the muffler. It rattles at about 1600 RPM (but not below or above). They said since it wasn't affecting the functioning of the vehicle they wouldn't cover it... the best part of the story is now my spare tire won't lower... Thanks Chevy for busting the lowering mechanism for the spare and not fixing the real problem! And thanks for not telling me about breaking the lowering mechanism so I could find out when I did have a flat... that was awesome (happy feelings inside just from the memory)... :(
