CarComplaints.com Notes: Engines shouldn't need a new quart of oil every 500-1000 miles, but for thousands of Suburban owners that's exactly what's happening. Engine oil consumption on aluminum block engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) is out of control and owners are left looking for answers.
The most likely culprit is an uncovered AFM valve which, in many cases, can be covered under warranty. The problem is the issues don't stop there and many owners have been told by GM just to buy a new engine. Take one guess who they want to pick up the tab.

Takata inflators - received notification by mail from tk holdings, Inc. That the recall is still outstanding and that I should notify manufacture to receive repairs. Call service representative at koons GMC/Chevrolet and he informed me that the recall is still pending within GM and that nothing can be done at this time. Seems that the owners of these vehicles are being jerked around at the expense of the airbag inflator and the car or truck manufacture. Meanwhile, our lives could be at stake if we get into an accident and the airbags are inflated. Sorry state of affairs to us, the owners of these vehicles. This incident didn't happen yet, but I just wanted to state it before I get into and accident and I can't create this incident report after the fact because I'm died!

"takata recall" : received notification thru the mail. Went online to "www. airbag recall.com" checked VIN there and was directed to contact dealer to have airbag replaced. Called dealer and was told that there isn't anything they could help me with. So I guess the paper work I received in the mail is a fraudulent document.
Takata airbag recall the remedy to this recall is still not available and the responsible party has filed for bankruptcy. The safety component with known manufacturing defect should be prioritized and replaced accordingly, no timetable from GM or my local dealers as to when this will be fixed.
Takata recall I called to schedule a recall exchange of my airbag with the Chevrolet dealership I was told that Chevrolet hasn't found a solution / remedy for fixing my airbag so this is why I am filing a complain and I received my notice back in 2016 in this is 2017 now and there still isn't any type of remedy to fix the airbag for the Chevrolet dealership
Takata recall.... I feel I've been patient enough this recall was sent to me in July 2016. Is my vehicle gonna get fixed, am I driving an unsafe vehicle with my kids or wife in the front seat" GM say's it's safe and they will take full responsibility however, everything else I'm reading says I should get it fixed and GM once again states no fix is available! I find that hard to believe you can't fix an airbag and even harder to believe they are willing to "say" they are responsible for my wife and kids lives? what is going on and how long is this going to take to fix a problem" GM is also telling me they are waiting for you to make a decision as to weather or not the recall truly effects their vehicles, because they feel its not a problem ( or they just don't want to fix them in my opinion)
