CarComplaints.com Notes: Engines shouldn't need a new quart of oil every 500-1000 miles, but for thousands of Suburban owners that's exactly what's happening. Engine oil consumption on aluminum block engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) is out of control and owners are left looking for answers.
The most likely culprit is an uncovered AFM valve which, in many cases, can be covered under warranty. The problem is the issues don't stop there and many owners have been told by GM just to buy a new engine. Take one guess who they want to pick up the tab.

This is not the first problem that I have had with this vehicle. It is one of many and it all has to do with oil function and consumption. After many months of calling and complaining, GM did fix the oil leak. But it still has many issues.
I am tired of having to call and deal with this, complaining to someone in another country. They can't get me to the people that I would need to speak to to fix the problems, not that GM is trying to help us. It is obvious that GM is not taking action for a problem that many owners are having. I don't have the luxury of being able to buy or even trade out of this car at this time.
I would like to know if anyone has started a class action suit for these issues that GM does not want to say is a major problem with this model vehicle.
