CarComplaints.com Notes: Engines shouldn't need a new quart of oil every 500-1000 miles, but for thousands of Suburban owners that's exactly what's happening. Engine oil consumption on aluminum block engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) is out of control and owners are left looking for answers.
The most likely culprit is an uncovered AFM valve which, in many cases, can be covered under warranty. The problem is the issues don't stop there and many owners have been told by GM just to buy a new engine. Take one guess who they want to pick up the tab.
I live in Northern British Columbia Canada. In the winter it can get down to -40 then warm up to plus 5-10. When this happens it appears that the head liner sweats and it drips water from around the headliner interior light. Took it into the local dealer ship and was advised that this is a common problem with the 2007 and 2008 Suburbans and Tahoe's. Chevy however refuses to recognize the problem. Apparently there is no fix at the moment. I am worried about both staining of the head liner and possible rusting between the liner and the roof. Just today I pulled my Suburban into my garage because it was -15. and I wanted to check the oil etc. I then took it outside for a drive and got water pouring out of the interior lamp case, and Chev says there is no problem !!!! Anyone else with this problem?????? Thanks

Thought maybe it was rain or snow melting on the roof, but there was no moisture on the outside of the vehicle.
