CarComplaints.com Notes: Engines shouldn't need a new quart of oil every 500-1000 miles, but for thousands of Suburban owners that's exactly what's happening. Engine oil consumption on aluminum block engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) is out of control and owners are left looking for answers.
The most likely culprit is an uncovered AFM valve which, in many cases, can be covered under warranty. The problem is the issues don't stop there and many owners have been told by GM just to buy a new engine. Take one guess who they want to pick up the tab.

I have cut my fingers on the peeling edges of my interior door handles. All 4 of them are pealing. In fact one of my kids cut their fingers as well. The chrome on the handles is peeling at the seam on the tip edge of the handle itself. The dealer refuses to do anything about this as it's no longer a warranty item once past 24K miles. Well, I keep my cars a long time - consistently put over 200K on a car before replacement. This problem emerged just over 30K miles - very disappointing for such a new vehicle. In fact, I never experienced a quality problem like this. It's silly things like pealing door handles - a part I touch several times a day that annoys me so much.
on both front door handles the chrome is peeling off. Have been cut twice just exiting the vehicle. It has gone from a interior quality issue to a safety hazard.
My friend was getting out and cut his finger on the handle. I trimmed it off with a razor blade, but it is still rough and peeled some more. You pay this much for a vehicle, you expect more!!!
Cut my finger on it last week and the dealer says the cost to repair is 125.00 plus labor. I feel GM (Government Motors) should repair it under warranty.
The chrome tape covering on the interior plastic door handles was rough when we purchased new. The passenger side worse than the driver side doors. The tape came loose on the front passenger door and cut my wifes hand much like a paper cut. This is a really cheap detail in a $52,000 vehicle... Dealer is replacing while in the shop for replacement of the engine.....
This one problem is my only complaint. The chrome on the exit door handles is peeling off. Therefore causing it to possibly cut your hand when you touch the handle. Not to mention it just looks terrible!!! Looks like they really skimped on this one!!!

Another with chrome peeling off interior door handles. At least should be reimbursed for the cost of bandaids!
