This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Dashboard lights are too bright. Consumer is unable to see speed. Dashboard lights can not be dimmed to remove glare out of the driver's window and side view mirror.
The dome light switch can be used to override the daytime running lamps, by pushing it in and out twice. The drls are turned off and a bell notifies you. This can be done at any vehicle speed / gear. This dome light switch is similar in shape and size to the fog lamp switch right next to it, and at night while driving it is difficult to tell the difference which one is being pressed. The problem lies with the fact that at night when the car is started, the headlights come on automatically, how nice. However, if you hit the override switch twice the headlights go off leaving you in the dark, wherever you may be. It seems that the drls are not aware whether it is day or night. If you turn the headlight switch to on this does not happen.
