Consumer owns 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. Two of the electrical motors had gone out on the power windows, two separate windows. She took vehicle a garage T to have window motors replaced, and the mechanic called the dealer for parts, and was told that the motor was already on back order, she said that this showed her that she was not the only one having this problem. Also, had a problem with electrical locks, they failed. The driver's door will open automatically but the other doors have to be opened manually. The front doors had exterior locks, and one could unlock them from the outside. But, the rear doors did not have exterior locks. She had to reach them from the front to manually unlock the rear doors to get in from the outside.

The vehicle displayed a loud noise that sounded like a muffler and or vacuum. The vehicle was taken to the dealer in which they had taken diagnostic tests but wasn't sure what the problem was. They then stated that there was a known problem with the intake system in which air would surround the engine. The problem seemed to worsen each time the vehicle was in motion. The right front window was inoperative due to the motor going bad.

Electrical: If key is turned to accessory; after approximately 10 minutes the battery is drained and car will not start. This has been going on for 3 years even with a new battery replacement. Also, frequently the clock display will be on the wrong time and lights flicker when using the power windows.

There was an engine knocking problem. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted. The consumer was given a letter that certified that the manufacturer was aware of this problem, and the vehicle was okay to drive. The consumer disagreed, and felt the vehicle was not safe. There was a noise, rubbing sound when the brakes were applied. There were knocks during the initial start of the day, and the window was noisy while operating as the regulator cable was loose.

Vehicle has shut off several times while traveling at highway speed. After coasting to the shoulder and several attempts, the truck restarts. The truck also sputters during acceleration. The dealer has replaced the crankshaft sensor several times and has replaced four warped rotors that caused the brakes to be spongy. Two of the power window motors have been replaced due to inoperative windows. The oil level in the truck drops between (frequent) visits to the dealership. The low oil indicator light first illuminated when the truck had only been driven 3900 miles. The dealership can't find a leak.
