When I first got the car, the handles were okay but it then slowly started with the Passenger door first. When I pulled the handle it wouldn't open. I tried again and it just came loose from the door. I figured it's only one door we can handle opening it up from the outside. Than 6 months later the door behind the passenger seat goes. Now ALL 4 of the door handles are hanging limp. It's such a Hassle having to ROLL the WINDOWS down just to get out of the car. It frightens me that one day the windows won't roll down or the Outside handles won't work and we'd ALL be Stuck in the car. My daughter was Locked in the car once when she went in to grab her bag. She said she kept blowing the horn to try and get someone's attention to open the door up for her, but of coarse we couldn't hear her because we was in da restaurant. If it wasn't for my husband to go out to smoke, we would've never known that she was LOCKED in the Car because We've gotta have the car keys to turn the car on, to ROLL the WINDOW down to Get OUt!! it's such a PAIN to have to go through all that just to get out of my own car!!!

Very frustrating to have to open my window (rain, snow, sleet, hail, freezing cold) in order to get out of my car. The other door is starting to have problems too. Other than the handle issue, I love this car but know it's going to go soon.

Tried to open my door from the inside--latch pulls back and nothing happens. Hmm. Tried it again, still no release. I pushed harder against the door--nothing...until it falls limply down in my hand, dangling now towards the floor. Great.

I could open the door by reaching through the already open window and pulling the outside latch. A quick google reveals that this is extremely common for 98's and 99's. Must be some cheap stuff they put in there.
