The vehicle isn't used much these days, so I haven't gotten it fixed. It happened to the door behind the driver. These door locks are all electrically or mechanically locked. Can't make it lock no matter what I do. It is STUCK. Another problem is the front passenger door no longer unlocks or locks from the outside with the key. Something inside the door got separated from the key mechanism. I must rely on the driver's door or the rear (barn door) to unlock the vehicle. the driver's side door still works good, but the barn door is hard to turn. Something definitely wrong with Chevrolet door locks for this year (1999). This car came with keyless entry locks that broke within the first year. We were told they would cost $125 apiece just to replace the plastic covers. BS. Never did fix those. Chevrolet Suburban has numerous electrical problems that year.
