2012 Chevrolet Sonic
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chevrolet dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is fairly new & is already showing an early trend of transmission problems.
Owners report hesitation when shifting & grinding/hard shifting into gears. Some dealers are calling the condition "normal". Another owner reported his dealership replaced the transmission under warranty, but the new transmission had the same exact grinding problem. Design defect?

Noticed gas mileage was down by 5 miles to the gallon over a 3 week period. On February 28th, went to back out of the garage and noticed that the engine was revving, but was not going anywhere fast, but the engine sure wanted to go. Low and behold, I did not have reverse!!! Was not a happy camper. Contacted the dealership and they got me in on Monday. Found out there is a compartment on the transmission with a part (name unknown at this time) that was defective. Hoping this will fix the hard shifting also...... I am greatful for the fast service that I am receiving at the dealership to get my car back in proper running order!!! :)
