1st to 2nd gear shifts are hesitant and rough, sometimes dangerous causing truck to jump forward. Usually in parking lots. If stopped on a downhill ; I take foot off brake then the truck will roll like all cars do, and then when I step on the accelerator, the truck engine will rev up as if in neutral then slam into gear causing me to nearly rear end the cars in front on multiple occasions

Transmission is faulty, has been to the dealer where I purchased several times, they flushed the trans 2 or 3 times then finally rebuilt the transmission with around 60,000 miles. Now I'm at 70,000 miles and having transmission problems again. It surges between gears, sometimes feels like I've been rear ended and sometimes seems to skip a gear and be in neutral for a few seconds before clucking into gear.

Transmission shifts hard into gear when slowing down and extremely hard when towing 2,000lb empty trailer, currently at dealership to have new torque converter and pump installed. Dealership stated no metal shavings in transmission they believe. When accelerating engine rpms increase while vehicle speed decreases. Stereo constantly disconnects from wifi when streaming music. Wifi will continue to work for other devices. Voice commands work 80%ish of the time.

The transmission on this truck has not been right from the beginning. When starting in the morning it will do one of three things: Surges and transmission skips, hesitate and then race or jump ahead, or chunk and thunk like it really doesn't want to go to work and shifts hard when it does. I keep asking when GM will take care of this problem and I keep getting the run around. I have brought it in 3X, have had diagnostics run, transmission flushed and of course it has not helped. I am now bringing it back to Chevy dealer and now they say I have to do the next step according to GM which is put in a new torque converter. I bought a beautiful truck that runs like crap and I am very frustrated.

The steering wheel vibrates at around 65 mph. It feels like you are rolling over rumble strips. The dealership balanced the tires, but the vibration continues. Researching the issue indicates it may be a problem with the torque converter.

Transmission is constantly jerking and hard shifting. It also lags when trying to accelerate. Tried to get it looked at under warranty and was told "welcome to the future" by the dealership. They wouldn't even drive or look at it. Feels like I've been ripped off, why even offer warranties?

I've noticed since the first month of owner ship back in 2018, that something was wrong with my transmission. I own a 2017 Chevy Silverado with the 8 speed transmission. Not only had it been discouraging, it's disturbing, and possibly even unsafe. From 1st to 2nd gear there is a hard shift in the transmission. And the same problem is from 2nd to 1st gear. The vehicle makes a loud clunk and it jerks simultaneously. The fact I spent $50,000 on this truck brand new and have got nowhere with the problem is outrageous. I always believe it is a safety concern, because the vehicle will move it radically. When I brought it to my dealership they said it was 'left in 4 wheel drive' ridiculous lies. And if that was the case why did they 'update the transmission computer.' Regardless, all of these problems from GM have been swept under the rug. The problem has never stopped. I've gotten replies from service representatives at the dealership saying 'they all do that' or 'it's fine' so tired of getting nowhere. GM should be replacing every single 8 speed transmission. I am worried that my transmission will fail at any time. New vehicles should not drive like this.

Transmission shudder at speed. Hard shifts at slow speed. Appears to be well documented across this site and other forums. It appears the oil used in the transmissions was defective (per Chevy). Tsb - 16-na-175 and tsb 18-na-355. Hopefully adding to the long list of complaints helps get Chevy to issue a "recall" or something similar to resolve the issue with the flush procedures or similar fixes.

Hard downshifting when going down hills at slow speed. Jerking and clunking noise, and RPM goes up and sounds like gears are grinding. I have taken it to the dealership and they tell me nothing is wrong. It happens every time I am going down a hill with the breaks applied and going at a slow speed. The truck jerked so bad that the seat belt locked.

A 2017 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L at 80000 miles the water pump went bad I had a 2006 same truck and it was 200000+.miles before I had to deal with this issue. I don't know if I'm the only one that had the water pump issue so soon or if this is a common problem with this truck that needs to be looked into, also excessive noises from the transmition when up or down shifting at low speeds and is like if struggled to down shift when you need it like when you need to pass a car in front of you most times you have to give it excessive throtle and only then it downshifts in a violent manner, again do not know if this is something that is only happening to me or if there is someone else out there with the same truck having similar issues, thanks.

Truck down and upshifts hard. When slowing down for a car in front of me, when I get back on the gas, the truck has no power like it can't figure out what gear to be in. Makes a loud clunking noise with light acceleration from 1st to 2nd gear. There is major hesitation when trying to down shift no matter what gear I'm in. Problem needs to be fixed before someone gets injured. Been to Chevy 3 times for the same problem and all they tell me is the transmission will learn how you drive. They also told me there is no new update for the transmission module so I'm screwed.

Silverado 3500

The 8-speed automatic transmission exhibits numerous issues. 1) when slowing down to under 10 mph, as if you were yielding to traffic and then pressing the throttle to accelerate the vehicle, two issues can occur. First, the vehicle's transmission can hesitate between gears, providing no power to the wheels. Second, when vehicle does shift into a gear, the vehicle can lurch forward unexpectedly as if you were hit from behind. There is sometimes an audible "clank" when this issue occurs. This issue can prevent a driver from successfully entering traffic due to loss of instant power to the wheels. 2) during low-speed acceleration, the vehicle can hesitate between the first three gears, providing no power to the wheels. It has a similar feel to a transmission that was slipping. This can cause a driver to over-correct the deficiency in power to the wheels by applying excessive throttle and cause an accident. 3) when proceeding slowly in stop and go traffic, the vehicle can shift up or down suddenly, causing the vehicle to lurch forward unexpectedly. There is sometimes an audible "clank" when this issue occurs. This can cause the vehicle to strike the rear of another vehicle, in tight traffic, if the driver isn't prepared to apply the brake when the event occurs. 4) when driving normally, the transmission may hesitate to downshift when the accelerator is applied as would be necessary when trying to pass a vehicle. This does not appear to be gear dependent. The loss of instant power can prevent the driver from successfully overtaking another vehicle in the event they need to conduct a passing maneuver.

Driving from Connecticut to South Carolina my truck developed a bad vibration between 45mph to 70mph. The dealer says that the transmission needs to be flushed. This vehicle has 34K for miles. They claim that no damage is being done to the transmission. This I believe is a safety issue and should be recalled. The vehicle is still at the dealership and my family and I are stranded while they claim that GM needs reading before they can flush the transmission fluid.

When at highway speeds (anywhere between 40-75) there is a very noticeable shaking when engine is under light load (just keeping speed). I have taken in to Chevy dealership and they changed the transmission fluid and that worked for a couple thousand miles. Not the "Chevy shake" is back at full force. Upon calling Chevy, they claim to know that their trucks do this, but say there is not a fix to solve the issue. They claim they have no clue where it's coming from, but should not be a safety hazard. My question is, if you do not know what it is, how can they say it's not a safety hazard. I am so afraid that my truck is going to break down and it's not even two years old. I have read the thousands of complaints online with people having the exact same issue, since the 2014 model. They have had enough time to figure this out and should be held accountable.
