2008 Chevrolet 1500. Consumer writes in regard to passenger side airbag inflation issue and severe rusting to the entire frame. The consumer is requesting the truck to be repaired/replaced or providing a truck where this problem does not exist.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle drifted from side to side and failed to drive in a straight line. The contact, who was an independent mechanic, examined the vehicle and discovered that the subframe separated on both sides behind the front upper control arms. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 100,000.
