On my 2007 Silverado I am constantly having to take it in to get serviced for traction control and service stabilitrak. My active fuel management lifters are also not functioning properly. This happens when I am making turns. The vehicle will lose control and it feels very dangerous.my brakes are constantly being replaced and I feel like there is some major issues when the vehicle was built.

While merging onto the express way I had a major loss of power and a slight shake in my Silverado. Multiple engine lights came on (stability track, traction control, and blinking engine light). On my way to the nearest GM dealer, at every stop light the truck lacked power to get going when the peddle was pushed, then it would kick in and screech the tires. After leaving the truck at the dealer, I receive phone call from the dealer the following day stating that the lifter (afm lifter) had malfunctioned and was stuck. I asked what causes this (because my truck only has about 39,700 miles on it), and the dealer stated it was "an issue with the design of the engine." I then researched the internet (GM forums, social media, NHTSA) to find out that this is a huge issue. Many owners had the bad lifter replaced under warranty, only to have a different lifter go bad. I decided to have the dealer replace all my lifters, because that is what they recommended and they admitted there is a good chance I would be back in for the same issue on the other lifters if I didn't replace them. The dealer contacted GM to see if any of my repair could be covered under the powertrain warranty because I only have 39,700 miles on it, but my truck was 8 years old so they said they wouldn't. I contact GM to see if I could directly get anything covered seeing I only had 39,700 miles, plus bought an extended warranty that just expired last year. I was transferred through 5 different representatives that all admitted that the lifter failure is "an issue, but not a recall." If they know its an issue, the dealers know its an issue, its a extremely common issue all across the internet, why wont GM take care of it? my Silverado cost over $45,000 when new, you think it should last well over 100,000 miles with no engine problems.

Traveling at 60 mph while towing a 35' fifth wheel the engine started to shudder a bit. When we pulled over and put the engine into neutral the engine stopped running. We tried to start the truck but it would not turn over but there was juice to the battery to run the lights and windows. After being towed to a local garage, as we were out of state, then to another in our town we were informed it is a bad crankshaft and a new engine is needed. The engine has 55 thousand miles on it with no modifications. After many searches on the internet I have found many cases where this has occurred. I have contacted Chevy and their response is it is out of the warranty period, five years even though it is well under the 100,000 mile cap. This needs to be addressed as it could have caused a major accident had we not been in the right lane and been able to pull over before losing complete power on a major highway.

Defective exhaust manifold bolts. The bolt heads are breaking off of my 2007 Chevy Silverado crew cab truck. This is a well maintained lightly used truck I use for work. After discovering the problem, I went to the internet to search solutions on this problem and that's how I found out that this is a very big problem with this truck engine. There is no tsb on this or a recall, but there should be, engines affected are all V-8's from 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L. Very expensive repair that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

While driving at highway speeds the interior lights began flickering on the dash and in the cabin. Approximately 45 seconds to one minute after the initial dash and light issues the check engine light came on and a notice of battery charging failure occurred, within a few seconds of this occurrence I began to slow down and pull over. The engine shut off before this could occur. By the time I coaxed the vehicle onto the shoulder the electrical system and door locks were no longer working. Smoke and flames began to enter the cockpit and I immediately exited the vehicle. The interior of the vehicle was fully engulfed in less than a minute and the entire truck, bed, and gas tank soon followed. The truck was completely consumed and is now a total loss.

After buying my truck I noticed a "tick" noise from the exhaust on my truck. After taking my truck to the shop I was told that my exhaust bolts into the engine were broken. This in hand made me fail the emission test and costing me alot of money. After research it is stated in many places that this is a common occurrence with these Chevy models, and Chevy refuses to do anything about polluting the environment and costing it owners money in thing that should not break ever.
