The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the heat would not activate on the high setting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the heater switch was found to be melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred several years later in which the heater switch overheated and caused the dashboard to catch on fire. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Blower fan for heat and A/C stopped working. Replaced resistor assembly and it worked for about three days.checked to see what was the matter and saw that the connection had melted.
