While driving approximately 75 mph, the contact heard a popping sound while turning the steering wheel and an abnormal grinding sound while driving at various speeds. The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving 50 mph he heard a grinding sound from the front-end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and he was advised that the hub and bearing assembly failed. The vehicle was repaired at an expense of $432.41. The failure mileage was 48985. The current mileage was 49000. Updated 01/29/10. The consumer stated when the grinding started, the vehicle pulled to the right. Also, the ABS activated under normal driving conditions.
