If the truck drives over the slightest pump or pot hole in the road the tailgate pops open. This is due to a failure in the latching system. Dealership replaced the latching system. This is a common failure with these vehicles.
Left side tail gate strap broke in two with no load other than the latch for the gate keeps coming unlatched while vehicle is in motion and now the strap has separated in the center of the cable. No routine load is carried on this gate and vehicle is just two years old.
I own a 2002 Chevy Silverado, the tailgate cables that hold the tailgate onto the truck broke smooth in half while the tailgate was down and only two adults were sitting on the tailgate.this truck is only a year old and this happens, they are supposse to last alot longer than that.
