There is a wire harness showing from under steering wheel til that has a short circuit and occasionally sparks. Also, this has caused problems with reading fuel indicator/ odometer/ gear indicator/ air conditioner and heater.
An electrical short within head light and tail light assembly burned out installation, causing insufficient lighting. Consumer has contacted dealer. Wiring for the tail lights and dash lights is too small, when towing a trailer, wiring is inadequate to handle extra lights, wires at harness light switch are charged from getting hot, consumer feels wiring needs to be heavier or use relays to support the trailer lights.
On Sept. 9th of this year I had a 2000 Chevrolet pickup to catch fire on me as I was driving it to the bank. I live in a very rural area and the roads are curvy. By-standers and the people at the bank were kind enough to have the fire put out before the haysi fire dept. Arrived.
Had parked vehicle & went around to rear of truck. Driver smelled smoke & noticed that it coming from underhood. Lifted hood & the electrical wire harness was on fire. Consumer extinguished the flames. Took truck to dealership. Mechanic could not locate origin of fire or cause.
