When stepping on brake pedal it will go always to the floor, and will not operate. Two recalls had been received from manufacturer about this problem.

- Savana, GA, USA

ABS light came on, causing ABS motor to turn on pressing against brakes. Dealer has advised that entire ABS system must be replaced with consumer's expense.

- Fresno, CA, USA

While vehicle was turned off, the electrical brake pump would still run. Firestone at tire experienced tread separation, Firestone would not replace, but did give a discount, tire size P285/75R16.

- Corpus Christi, TX, USA

While driving ABS light came on. Then, consumer drove off road and turned off engine, ABS motor kept working. Took vehicle to dealer, where they did not explain what could had happened.. the consumer believes, the ABS was defective.

- Desert Hot Spring, CA, USA

Brakes were applied under normal stopping distances, pedal went to floor, resulting in extended stopping distance, and causing a collision. Dealer has inspected vehicle several times, and could not duplicate or correct problem. Consumer received recall notice after collision.

Intermittently when brakes are applied pedal goes partially to floor, resulting in extended stopping. Dealer has inspected vehicle and could not duplicate problem.

- Center, AL, USA

Periodically brakes would stop working. Consumer would attempt to stop, but brake pedal would hit floor, and vehicle would not stop until brake pedal was pumped a couple of times. Whenever the vehicle hits bump, the brakes go down.

- Cleveland, TN, USA

Intermittently brake pedal does not depress, and vehicle will not stop, usually in winter conditions or when wet (snow and rain).

- Gladstone, MI, USA

Applied brakes on concrete driveway (clean and dry) and was unable to stop. Crashed throughclosed garage door hitting vehicle parked inside and pushing it thru the homes family room wall. Weather conditions dry and cold (approx 25 deg). Time of day - 1:30 pm. Brake pedal was pushed nearly to floor and ABS pulse/noise was heard and felt (passenger verified) but vehicle did not slow down or stop. Approx distance 30 ft. After initial accident, witnesses were able to push brake pedal to floor while engine running (several staggered engine restarts and brake trys). All, including driver and passenger, concluded problem exists with ABS/brakes. Driver has never depressed brake pedal this far in the 18 mos the vehicle has been owned.

- Dimondale, MI, USA

When anti lock brake system activates on rough surface brakes go to floor. ABS module failed and ran all time. Consumer pulled fuse out and corrected problem with antilock system. Dealer was aware of some major prolems. Second problem was driveshaft. Rear universal joints came apart while driving at 65mph. It was taken to a driveshaft shop, and they found no signs of grease in joints.

Brake problems, vehicle does not have braking distance it should have. Took vehicle to dealer 3 times. Dealer replaced front rotors and brake pads. Currently, dealer said brakes were normal for vehicle.

ABS light would remain on, and ABS motor would still be running, even with ignition switch turned off. Vehicle taken to independent repair shop for repairs/replacement of electronic brake control module. Manufacturer notified. The consumer states that there was shortages of the part needed to fix the problem because there were many failure.

Manufacturer has failed to install a dust guard for disc brakes which could cause brakes to lock up, and had a potential for vehicle rollover. Manufacturer sent out tsb, but will not assist consumer because vehicle was driven off road.

Brake module has gone out on vehicle. Also, gas pedal sticks. Every 10-15000 miles consumer has to clean out carbon built up.

- Owensborough, KY, USA

The ABS pump will not shut off unless the underhood fuse is removed. The brakes still operate somewhat, but not to their potential. Could cause accident. Out of warranty, have seen more than a dozen other truck owners same problem, same truck on Chevrolet performance website.

This truck is only 2 years old and the ABS system is out. This is a major safety issue because it affects your whole braking system. I just cannot believe that a company the size of GM would not be concerned. I have purchased over 25 GM units through my company for the last 10 years, but will never purchas another one.
