The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted.

The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/ Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there was no recall coverage on the vehicle; however, the repair could be paid for out-of-pocket, and reimbursement sought afterward. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
