I purchased my truck brand new. I love this truck but I feel like there might be a problem or something going on. I was driving with my brand new baby girl just 7 weeks old when suddenly something started to smell really toxic and it filled the entire truck up with what smelled like diesel fuel fumes. It smells like someone dumped 10 gallons of fuel inside my truck. There is no safe place to pull over and It is freezing outside. My baby is getting exposed to this and breathing it in. The inside of my new truck is poisoning my beautiful daughter and now I am panicking I am so scared. I had to drive for 20 minutes to find a safe place to pull over.
I called a friend to come get my daughter out of the truck. I had to continue driving to get the truck home. I think baby is OK but I have been feeling extremely sick ever since I got out of the truck. My head hurts and I can not think very clearly. I called the customer service number 1 800 222 1020 and they told me to go to the local dealer ship for help. When I got there they told me they would not help because it was a Saturday. They left me and my family stranded. I spent all my money on this truck and now my family has no vehicle.
I love Chevy trucks, I am a loyal fan and customer but this incident could have killed my daughter. I will never feel safe in that truck again even if they do fix it. I will be contacting a lawyer just in case. I don't plan on trying to sue or anything like that because Chevrolet is a good company and things do happen, but I do expect for them to help me out on this.
