Driving through California desert afternoon in our Chevy 2500 Silverado Duramax diesel. Start losing power, then screen says "reduction in power". Within 20 seconds, there was a total loss of power and the engine is dead. After two tow trucks and 190 miles later, car was at dealer. Dealer says fuel pump exploded, sending metal pieces throughout engine. Injectors, pump, and all other parts need replacing... $15,960!!! Dealer calls GM and says we are excellent clients so GM settles for us paying a "co-pay" of $5,952.50. I'm reading about class action lawsuits but I'm not sure if it will cover the diesel engine at 122k miles. Still, do I pay this and join the lawsuit?
