My trailer brake warning bell keeps coming on all the time saying service trailer brake, then says connected. I have pulled the fuse as to not here this bell all the time. I just changed the module and it still does it. It is very annoying and not haveing brakes for the trailer really sucks. When will this be fixed.

I-??m getting a service trailer brake system notification( it-??s has been showing up for awhile now). I-??ve seen several times where this has come up with individuals that own the same year and makes. Why hasn-??t Chevrolet address this situation yet. Any solution would be helpful.

The power assist to the brakes is failing. The truck requires extreme force to the brake pedal for the vehicle to stop. Extreme safety hazard.

Going downhill using the brakes often it loses power brakes because of vacuum loss. Their is a recall for this but my truck is not on it. To recalibrate the electronic brake control. The brakes still work but with no assist it is very hard to slow down. The code showed on my Chevrolet app but not when they scanned the vehicle. Code 8-9999

Duramax 2500hd Silverado lt steering/brake issue when rear tires go below TPMS threshold of 56 psi per tire and illuminate a warning light. The symptoms were while driving in forward direction a feeling of bad brakes/warped rotor/missing lug nuts with a continual increase of shaking past 25mph up to 65mph at which point it felt completely unsafe. Other symptoms were noticeably worse while braking the steering wheel became almost unholdable and shaking to an extreme. Brakes, rotors and associated hardware have been checked and are in good condition. The truck only has 72K miles on it. After stopping at a shop and putting air back in the tires back to "within tolerance up to 65 psi per tire. The truck drives normally as it should without shake or wobble. It currently has non factory tires of brand: Toyo A/T open country. Size: LT265/70/R17

I have a 2006 weekend warrior 3105 5th wheel. When I purchased this truck I traded in a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500hd that I had not had any problems with. This 2016 is my 4th duramax I have owned a 2002, 2005, 20011 and this truck a 2016. When I am towing my 5th wheel at completely random times I get a "service trailer brakes" imessage on the dash. As soon as this message appears it turns off the trailer brakes. I have to find a wide spot pull over and: Turn the truck off, get out, unplug the trailer and plug it back in. This resets the truck and the brakes will work until the next occurance. Saturday February 8th I left for a week long trip to pismo beach. I went less than 25 miles when I got the first "service trailer brakes" message. I looked for a wide spot pulled over and did the unplug/plug in thing and it started working again. This happened twice more on the way to pismo beach. Monday I went to the Chevy dealer in arroyo grande. They looked at the truck and said there were corroded connectors in the T connector in the back but they could not get a new one for 3-5 days. While I was in their dealership the man in line in front of me was in for service for the same thing "service trailer brakes". he has had his truck in 7 times for the same issue. His is a 2017. I get online and ordered a pollak T-connector and heavy duty receptical and it was delivered to me Friday. I installed theese on Saturday and used a test light to make sure everything was working and wired properly. Sunday when I left to return home I didnt get 5 miles down the road when I got the "service trailer brakes " message. I waited for a wide spot on the 101 fwy pulled over turned the truck off, pulled the plug and replugged in and it worked the rest of the trip approximately 135 miles. I don't trust this truck anymore and I think its a dangerous vehicle to be towing with.

Started to apply brakes to stop for red light. All of the sudden brake pedal went to the floor which caused me not to be able to stop for the red signal. I ran thru the intersection striking another vechicle. That car was totaled and our truck had 7K in damage. Their were minor injuries to the gentleman I struck and I received two tears in my left rotator cuff which will require a surgical repair. Seatbelt did not engage nor did the air bags deploy. I assume the seatbelt didn't work due to the brake failure.

For three years I have towed several 10,000# toy hauler trailers around the country with sub standard brake systems. Each time I took the truck to the dealer to have the brakes checked, I was told that they were fine and no problems existed.with the trucks trailer brake system. After checking the trucks system myself, , I determined that the voltage to the trailer was only at 1.8V when it should have been 12V. I again returned to the dealer and this time I I was told that the problem lies with the 7 pin plug on the trailer, and that I needed to change it to a heavy duty aftermarket plug because I have a newer trailer with led lights that increase the resistance, and that causes my truck not to sense the trailer properly. There is a bulletin describing this problem.......but I was never given one or even had the problem explained until today. So, here I am driving at least 17,000# of steel down the highway for three years knowing that the trailer brakes are not performing correctly, and all the while Chevrolet is fully aware of the problem! how many other trucks are currently pulling trailers that can not stop because their trailer brakes are defective? consider this the next time you are on the highway with a truck pulling an rv trailer is behind you and your family.
