This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0171 and P0174. Technician will need to check the ethanol content of the fuel with the J44175. If the fuel tested over 10% alcohol, determine if the vehicle is equipped with Regular Production Option Code (FHS), If not flush the fuel system and add E10 gas.
