Bought a new 2500 Silverado and first night drive was a huge disappointment, low beams are poor, cannot see 50 yards down the road, no lateral lighting to see what is in the ditch, can not adjust the lights other than vertically which only makes the lighting worse. Driving in the rain down rural highways is absolutely stressful. With all the safety designs built into these vehicles I find it very disturbing that proper lighting did not seem to be on GM's agenda when designing these trucks...
The dealership has told me just about every new GMC or Silverado truck owner they have dealt with have the same complaints. Contacted GM customer service and was told their tech staff are looking into the issue, I bet they are ))::. This is a serious safety concern, my wife refuses to ride in the truck at night what a disappointment for us and would have been a deal breaker if I had known earlier., My 1987 Chevy has far superior lighting, what was GM engineering thinking when they put these lights in these trucks, the 2016 trucks have the same lighting, seems GM has chosen to ignore the issues of many new owners and are hoping no serious accidents will occur.
I have raised a complaint with Transportation Canada and soon will do the same with NHTSA. Seems the only way GM will recognize and address this issue is to have all those owners with these headlight systems step up and file complaints with GM customer service, NHTSA and any other regulatory organizations.
