This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Purchased a vehicle from dave smith motors on Oct 7,2019 and the rear seat belts do T match or operate after being told it went through a 125 point inspection and on their site says seatbelts are inspected and I have unoperational seat belts which is a saftey hazard on their part as they sold a vehicle with unmatched and operational saftey belts.
On numerous occasions the drive's seat belt has totally "released" while driving along the highway while I and other family members have driving along. These inadvertent releases were reported to my vehicles dealer (T & C Chevrolet, ashland, Oregon) on May 27, .2016 at 21261 miles. Dealer said they could not find any defect. The vehicle presently has approximately 32000 miles and the driver's seat belt still releases at unpredictable times. This situation has me very conderned about my and others safety if something un-toward happens.
My drivers side seat belt started to retract very slowly. Now it hardly retracts at all. It gets caught in the door when you close it now. The worest thing is you have open your door to free it. Not very safe if you have started to drive away... dealer would not fix under any of my warrenties.
When driving my seat belt comes un hooked also when connecting when starting at it has to click twice and sometimes if you pull on it it will come disconnected. Very concerned.
Car pulled out from gas station into path of my vehicle striking it in left rear quarter panel and left rear wheel. My truck spun to the left striking a semi truck totaled my truck heavy front end damage. Injury to my stepson who was the driver. Air bags never deployed nor did seat belts keep him in place allowing him to hit his head on the roof of the truck cab
