Drive side seat belt does not click together, therefore seat belt does not work all the time need to play with it for the seatbelt to connect and stay. This is a concern when the seat belt does not work.

The contact's son owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the side air bags deployed. The vehicle was not involved in a crash. The contact stated that the failure sounded like a gun shot. The contact spoke with a dealer and was informed that the failure occurred once before, but the vehicle had not been inspected. The failure and current mileages were 59,000. Updated 6/20/12 the consumer stated the seat belts locked up and now they have to be replaced. Updated 06/22/12
The seat beat click doesn't work on the back seats from my Silverado N was never replace by the dealership so I can't sit my 4 year son on the back since his car seat cannot be secure.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated the seat belt pulled back very fast and tight. When this occurred there was smoke coming from the seat belt re-tractor and from underneath the drivers seat. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that it was an inadvertent deployment of the seat belt pre-tensioner. The dealer contacted the manufacturer and was told not to work on the vehicle, because they were sending someone out to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not inspected. The dealer inspected the seat belt and stated that they had to replace the retractor. The seat belt was under warranty nor were there any related recalls.
