The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact was driving in reverse approximately 2 mph when he crashed into a tree. The contact stated that he was unable to see the tree through the rearview mirror. The contact stated that when driving at night, there was absolutely no visibility in the rearview mirror unless there was another vehicle behind him with their lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the rear view mirror was replaced yet the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a second authorized dealer where he was informed that the vehicle was operating as normal. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 2,000 and the current mileage was 45,500.
