The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving approximately 45 mph, the rear windshield of the vehicle shattered without warning. The driver sustained an arm laceration that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the technician stated that the rear windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado which was purchased used on August 25, 2007. She stated that the vehicle would steer on its on to the left or right without warning while driving at any speeds over 10 mph. The steering wheel would not move while this was happening, only the vehicle itself. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted and vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer made repairs to the tires, tow in and tow out mechanisms, and performed a wheel alignment, to no avail. No repairs were made to date to correct the actual failure. The contact was concerned about the safety risk since a potential crash could occur. The failure mileage was 6,000 and the current was 35,000. Updated 02/23/10. The battery died, the driver side window would not roll down and the traction control light illuminated. Updated 08/11/10
