This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.

In my truck, in the dash, there is a large crack that started back in 2017. The crack started very small. Every I hit a bump, no matter what size the bump is, it gets bigger and bigger. I need my dash to be fixed before I breaks completely.
When are we going to address the situation of : I'm doing 80 mph in the left lane on the interstate, and a semi truck doin 65 gets in my lane because there is a car on the side of the road. Which is more dangerous?
As many other 07-11 model GMC and Chevrolet vehicle owners have reported, my dash has also cracked in two places on my 2007 Chevrolet 2500hd ltz. My dash cracked above the passenger airbag and above the instrument cluster. Now the cracks are getting longer and affecting other dash panels and making annoying rattle noises. GMC and Chevrolet are obviously aware of this issue and are trying to pawn it off on owner irresponsibility when it is obviously a manufacturer defect. This defect is a safety issue as I see it. If the passenger airbag goes off it can send shards of broken plastic dashboard through the inside of the truck causing occupant injury. GMC and Chevrolet need to realize this and offer a recall to correct the issue before someone gets seriously hurt. They will wish they did when it happens. GMC and Chevrolet sure have great customer service when you are purchasing one of their vehicles. However, the moment you have a problem and need their help they are quick to give you the run-around and tell you they can't do anything to help you. Great customer service! I will never buy another GMC or Chevrolet again.
Dashboard has cracked in three areas at passengers airbag location and over radio and instrument cluster. Evidently this is not an isolated incident. I have two trucks in this condition and the internet suggests that there are thousands across the nation. Estimate to repair $1000 each!
Dashboard cracks in three different locations. As known by many other owners in the same locations. I am afraid if involved in an accident the airbags would cause dashboard to come apart flying into the cabin causing bodily injury to passengers.
When parked on a gravel driveway the truck caught on fire in the engine compartment. The truck was in a rural area and the fire department took some time to arrive. The truck was a total loss. The truck had been driven approximetly 120 miles that day without incident. The truck had been parked appoximatly 1 1/2 hours before it self ignighted.
Towing my 12000lb. 5th wheel on interstate 95 just South of palm coast fl. I puller over to check the brakes on the 5th wheel. The brake pedal went to the floor, because the brake line had rusted through. The truck has never been in an snow. Had to flat-bed truck to local Chevy dealer. They replaced two lines. On May 1, 2014, the other remaining lines ruster through and the truck had to be towed to the dealer again. No warning, either time. Never had a brake line rust through. Truck only had 67,000 miles on it. Luckily, it didn't quit towing 12000 ibs. Down the expressway...updated 06/26/14
