Heard a grinding noise from the right wheel upon turning. Took it to a mechanic and was told the bearing had to be replaced. Showed me the bearing after he removed it from the truck and it moved like a gyroscope! lots of play. He told me that if I had let it go any longer it could have totally failed and I could have lost the wheel! I am losing my faith in Chevy vehicles.This one has had problems from day one.
Replaced driver side wheel bearing at 25,000, 47,000, 65,000 and need it again at 97,000. All on driver side, first two were $200 with 2 year warranty, third $300 with 3 year warranty, not sure the route I will go forth on. I do tow a boat, trailers with new auto projects and use to for wheel and get in the mud and help others get out. Been wrenching for over 20'years and it makes no sense to have to replace under 100,000 on this truck for the paid price, especially when the passenger one has no problems.
Lucky maybe but I would expect better, especially for the claims Chevy makes about their products, maybe it's "Like a pop rock" (candy), but not very sweet.
