Exhaust manifold bolt head broke off. 1st bolt initially then second bolt next to it broke as well. No work has been done to motor or aftermarket parts added that would affect this part and create failure. Exhaust gas enters the underhood area sometime can be smelled inside cab. The exhaust makes a black plume up side of motor.
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado with a 6.0 liter engine. The left side and right side exhaust manifold are missing 2 bolts each. I only have 50,000 miles on this vehicle. The cost is unbelievable. This is certainly a matter that GM should take care of.
Exhaust manifold gasket leaking due to exhaust manifold bolts breaking/rusting off on more than one truck, a 2001 Chevy 3/4 ton with 6.0 and a 2005 model with a 6.0.
