The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a local shop where they informed that the electronic control module was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 diesel truck on freeway on 01/25/2010 and the truck immediately lost power while pulling a trailer. Very dangerous. Consumer never made aware of tech bulletin or problem. Tsb #05-06-04-047B injection harass. NHTSA #10017389. The truck has been taken to dealer for other recall notices and dealers never addressed the problem and should have before we were stuck out in the middle of the desert and had to get the vehicle and 5th wheel trailer towed. The consumers should be notified of this problem and Chevy dealers should fix problem with the injection harness because when a vehicle loses power on the freeway it is dangerous.

2005 Silverado pick up with 77000 miles pulling empty trailer( work) blows hole in #7 piston no warning, make it to nearest dealer takes them 2 weeks to decide engine ruined but not covered by warranty, they said by there ( General Motors) paperwork it looks like I have a power adder( chip) that caused the problem( which I did not have). After obtained there ( tsb) information it states that only if there are multiple pistons damaged then there is a power adder, if only one is damaged it is a bad injector, they refused to pay and I could not afford to pay there $16000+ bill to put a new engine so took to independent shop and had another engine put in.

When the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle idled roughly and failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was related to the left and right wire harness, which was replaced. The failure recurred on three separate occasions. Recently, the battery was replaced at an independent mechanic shop. The technician suggested that the edge be replaced, which was a component that enhances the performance of the vehicle. The component was removed at the contact's request and was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 71,000.

The consumer feels that it takes too long for the engine to pick up power after taking foot off the brake and applying the accelerator. The consumer feels that the delay is dangerous when trying to enter fast moving traffic from a stop. While stopped on an incline vehicle rolls backwards while the consumer's foot is in transition from the brake to the accelerator pedal.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick-up truck. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle completely shut off. It lost steering and braking capabilities. The contact stated that the engine oil reset light flickered on and off after the incident occurred. After a few minutes the vehicle started back up. The contact stated after driving a few more miles the vehicle repeated the same problem. The contact contacted the manufacturer, and they had a conference call with the dealership, who stated they would repair the vehicle. The dealership has not yet picked up the vehicle. The contact called the dealership, and they were going to call the consumer back within the next few minutes.

The day the vehicle was purchased the consumer noticed that the check engine light on his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado had illuminated. The dealer reset the check engine light, however it illuminated again and the dealer stated it was a bad gas pressure sensor. 4 months after owning the vehicle the vehicle started jerking and the consumer was unable to pass other motorist on the highway. The consumer managed to get to his destination when all of a sudden all of the lights on the dashboard lit up and the vehicle cut off. The dealer informed the consumer the ABS sensor and crank positioning sensor were bad.
