Was driving my 2000 1500 and had brake failure. Upon inspection not only did I find extensive rust on lines but my rear shackles are rotting through and some places on the frame. Started to think there no way this should not be happening to this truck. Only 140000 miles this has got to be a case of poor quality. Not only is this a safety issue and should be checked on but it is an expensive fix. I did slide off the road but I came to a safe stop in a field luckily my E-brake worked and nobody else was around. Could you please investigate this and take care of it. Chevrolet should stand by their product but they don't care about us, they just want their money. Also there is a lot of rust on body of truck, like actual holes in bedside and passenger side rocker panel is bad. Thank you for your time and consideration, sincerely Chevy truck owner:(

The truck started a vibrating/shaking at highway speeds at about 1000 miles. I have been put off and outright lied to about the problem. At times it is so severe that it will cause the cd player to skip. Three different dealers ackowledge the problem is common to these trucks. Chevrolet customer service has tried to blame the dealers for inaction, but I have a local dealer that has been authorized by Chevy to try different shocks, springs etc. To solve the problem on other trucks, and has had some success. I only want them to try to do something since nothing has been done up till now. The vibration can be dangerous since it sometimes starts without warning. My wife will not drive the truck at highway speeds.

I did ask for a rent car and was refused, also asked if it was safe to drive and recieved no answer. The dealer note on my repair receipt was "no problem at this time" and "could not duplicate the problem".
