Intermittently while driving at any speed and applying the brakes the rear brakes froze and wont release the brakes. Also, consumer indicated hada problem with the front brakes too.
I had a grinding noise from the rear passenger side brake. I pulled my tire and saw there was not any inside brake pad. The outer brake pad seemed to be in good shape. I took to the dealer and they replaced the rear rotors and brake pads. I had to pay for the pads, GMC sent out notices to dealers that they would not cover pads past 20,000 miles. It was stated that the rotors had rusted and pitted, thus ripping the pads apart. I had my front rotors replaced on 09/13/2001. I had the same problem here. It was caught before the rotors destroyed my brake pads. Again the rotors were covered under warranty, the pads did not get replaced this time.
Front brake rotors and pads needed replacement at 18,000 miles. Dealer / manufacturer notified, but repairs was done at an independent repair shop. Feel free to provide us with any further details on this matter.
4 times I have had this vehicle to the Chevrolet dealer. Brake system is a safety hazard. When I apply the brakes the whole front end shakes and vibrates causing loss of control of the vehicle. Has not been repaired.

Truck lurches violently when brakes are applied but only when towing a horse trailer. Condition is so severe that the truck is not safe to drive when towing. The trailer has been weighed (8300# empty) and carefully inspected, no problems. The truck is rated to pull 10,800#. dealer tells me that I am pulling too much weight. The disc brakes, all four, were found to be severely overheated and were replaced, but the problem persists. The truck will lurch even when the trailer brakes are disconnected and the trailer brakes can stop both the truck and trailer smoothly by using the hand control. Three dealers, two service reps and a GM engineer are stumped, but GM refuses to give me a buy back.
If I go to brake and the road is a tad bet bumpy the brakes do not catch and it takes a while to stop. Has happened 3 times. Didn't happen at dealers so they did nothing to fix it. Came close to hitting vehicle in front of me.
Vehicle experiencing the following problem 1.) brake booster had to be replaced on two occasions; 2.) thottle sticking, unble to correct the throttle from sticking. 3.) when applying brake pedal in wet road conditions, it commenced to pulsate intermittently, causing extended stopping distance, and 4.) squeaking sound coming from the suspension. Vehicle been in/out of dealer shop on three occasions, and problems are still reoccurring.
