2000, Chevrolet Silverado extended cab. Was pulling a trailer and heard a terrible noise. Consumer pulled over, frame had broke in two. The frame broke in the rear on both the left and right side.
Extended stopping distance when applying the brakes, the pedal feels spongy. Dealer stated that there was nothing he could do. Brake pedal goes to the floor and the front brakes will not lock up even if the ABS is disconnected. The trucks frame is so thin that the whole truck vibrates when taking off. Consumer states that the horn button has to be pivotted up and the steering wheel has to be at twelve oclock in order for the horn to sound, heat shields rattle under vehicle when traveling over bumps, dealer made adjustments.
Rear frame broken from approximately 2 inches in front of the tow hook attachment from the bottom up. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide further details.
