When shutting off engine right away consumer heard a loud grinding noise. Called dealer, who stated that problem was ABS module that failed, dealer stated it was a known problem on 1999 models.
Reporting ABS sensor failed, causing loss of ABS braking. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was out of warranty, and ther ewas no manufacturer's recall on that part. Feel free to provide any further information.
While applying brakes ABS light came on, and a loud hmming sound started, even after the vehicle switch was turned off. Sound continued until battery cable was disconnected. Dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information on this mattter.
ABS module failed and caused ABS valve to fail. Dealer would not contact GM to see if they would cover this failure as a defect. ABS has been disabled on the truck. I tried to contact a michelle lee who is GM's northeast rep. Whom I spoke to on another matter several times throuigh GM's 800 number to no avail.
While traveling at 25mph ABS system went out and the brakes locked up. It became difficult for consumer to slow down. Contacted dealer. Consumer states as he was turning that ABS went out and the vehicle began to skid, vehicle was taken into dealership and consumer was informed that the ABS computer module failed.
Would have no ABS brakes after pressing on brake pedal. Had fuse removed due to ABS pump continuing to run. ABS module had shorted out. Have taken to mechanic, but warranty expired. Drivers side window will not roll up, there was a popping noise when backing up and turning, dealer replaced lower ball joint, passenger side window leaks, leather seats are torn, cruise control module was replaced, dash panel parts inoperative, also cup holder rattles and the right back window leaks.
Vehicle experienced a brake loss when applying brakes before reaching a stop intersection. Dealer was notified, and informed consumer that ABS motor needed to be replaced. Feel free to provide any further information.
When applying brakes at any speed brake pedal goes down more than it should, it feels spongy, and braking distance is extended. Dealer has replaced front and rear rotors 3 times. Once due to rust, other times dealer did not know what else to do. Front and rear pads were replaced twice. Consumer states there is a noise in the steering, also seat belt was hanging up, the underhood lamp was inoperative, an horn acting erractically.
Sometimes in heavy traffic, pushed on brake pedal and pedal went down to the floor, also had to pull off road to keep from rearending another vehicle, contacted dealer, and dealer stated had to read manual. Consumer was later informed by dealer that they are aware of a problem with the ABS but do not have a remedy as of yet.
