The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the trailer brake warning indicator illuminated, but the vehicle did not have trailer brakes. The contact also stated that the spare tire was flat. The vehicle was towed to lone star Chevrolet (18900 northwest fwy, jersey village, tx 77065, (844) 891-7243) to be diagnosed. The dealer stated that a new module for the black box and new relays needed to be installed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 68,000. The VIN was unknown.
2013 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake system issues. The consumer stated when using the brake controller, there was little to no brakes. The consumer visited the dealer to see if the brake controller could be adjusted. So the trailer brakes would start sooner and get stronger. Updated 09/17/15 updated 11/30/2017
